PROFESSIONAL
HISTORY: Journalist since 1967. After nearly 20 years
as full-time newspaper writer-editor-columnist, went free
lance to newspapers and magazines in 1986. More than 6,500
newspaper and 1,300 magazine pieces published on hunting and
shooting. Seminars on slug shooting and various other aspects
of shotgun sports at shows and NRA Great American Hunters
Tour.
OTHER ACTIVITIES:
Expert witness in legal cases involving firearms and hunting. Former professional hunting guide (elk, bear, deer) in Idaho
1990-1997; amateur gunsmith, golf club builder, video host-producer,
award-winning taxidermist.
Also worked in regional and national television and radio.
Appears regularly on Outdoors Channel cable hunting shows.

POSITIONS: Three-term president of American Association
of Shooting Sports Writers; served as press officer at Wolf
Creek Venue for shotgun competition at 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.
